Following the death of his beloved young nephew, Kalsang Norbu, in April 2000, Lama Tharchin Rinpoche wrote this prayer of aspiration. The prayer illuminates the difference between how Kuntuzangpo, the original Buddha, perceives phenomena and how ordinary sentient beings perceive phenomena. Ordinary beings’ dualistic perception of the inner mind and outer phenomena as separate is the root of confusion and the subsequent generation of karma and suffering. This is the nature of samsara. However, in Kuntuzangpo’s nondual wisdom mind, all inner and outer phenomena are the ornament of enlightened mind. Kuntuzangpo is none other than the name of the essence of our original nature of mind, our primordially enlightened being. Within this original nature, the entire phenomenal world arises as Kuntuzangpo’s nondual wisdom display, the mind ornament of Kuntuzangpo.

About the prayer, Lama Dechen Yeshe Wangmo said, "Rinpoche poured his heart into these teachings. It's evident this opportunity to reach us was very important to him, and for me, they are the best Dzogchen teachings—all that I will ever need."
